Alex Wolfthal grew up immersed in the arts, taking clarinet lessons and dance lessons from an early age. In her sophomore year at U-M, she found a passion for stage management and transferred from LSA, where she had been exploring biology and astrophysics, to SMTD. During her time at U-M, she has participated in stage management teams for multiple university productions. Her work includes Complex Rhythms (ASM), Alcina (ASM), Latin Xpressions (ASM), A Beautiful Country (ASM), Daughters of the Bloody Duke (SM), All Wounds Bleed (SM), Proving Up (SM), and Don Pasquale (SM). She was part of the student team that received the Don Childs’ Award for Cross Discipline Collaboration from the Stagecraft Institute of Las Vegas for Proving Up at the 2021 Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival. Alex is a 3-year member of the clarinet section of the Michigan Marching Band and the former vice president of recruitment for the Nu chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi, the national honorary co-ed band fraternity.
