Christi Lundahl completed a DMA in Wind Band Conducting under the mentorship of Michael Haithcock. As a GSI at Michigan, she conducted the Symphony Band and Concert Band, assisted with the undergraduate conducting sequence, worked with the Michigan Marching Band, and directed the Women’s Basketball Pep Band. Within the community, she conducted the U-M Band Alumni Association concert ensemble and gave several presentations on her research at various institutions and conferences. Her education includes an MM in Instrumental Conducting from the University of South Florida and a BME in Music Education from Florida State University.
Prior to graduate study, Christi spent four years as the Director of Bands at Liberty High School in Kissimmee and two years as the Director of Band and Orchestra at Westridge Middle School in Orlando, Florida. During that time, she established two thriving jazz programs, received accolades for the concert ensembles at the district and state level, and significantly increased participation in each program as a whole. She was also active as a performer, playing trumpet with the Florida Wind Band, Space Coast Symphony Orchestra, Hollingsworth Winds, and cornet and tenor horn with the Brass Band of Central Florida.
