Isabella Kolasinski

Performance; French Horn

From Long Island, NY, Isabella Kolasinski studied horn in the studios of Adam Unsworth and Bryan Kennedy. During her time at SMTD, Isabella performed in the University Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Band, and multiple chamber groups. Favorite pre-COVID memories include performing Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 5, Steven Bryant’s Concerto for Wind Ensemble, and Benjamin Britten’s Serenade for Tenor, Horn, and Strings in the 2019 SMTD Concerto Competition. Other notable accomplishments and opportunities include performing in master classes for composer Nico Muhly and horn virtuoso Daniel Grabois, world premieres by composers such as Kristin Kuster and Roshanne Etezady, and receiving a Binkow Grant for performing in her brass quintet formerly known as the “Salmontet.” Prior to her education at SMTD, Isabella received her BM in horn performance at SUNY Potsdam, under the tutelage of Lauren Becker and Kiirsi Johnson.
