Kirena (Kira), hailing from Ann Arbor, started her music education in Buenos Aires, Argentina. There, she was accepted to the Manuel de Falla Conservatory, where she earned a diploma in piano. While at the conservatory, Kirena formed the piano duet Duo Geminis with fellow student Irina Pujol. She began studying classical voice in Argentina as well. Her proudest accomplishment is founding the Buenos Aires Schubert Society, an organization dedicated to performing lieder. After transferring to U-M in 2020, Kira has turned her focus to musicology. Her interests in this field include folk music, Orthodox liturgical music, and Klezmer. She graduates with a double major in Russian language and literature, and music.
