Originally from Solomons Island, MD, Lea Humphreys spent her time at Michigan in the studios of Adam Unsworth and Bryan Kennedy. She has played in the horn sections of the University Philharmonia Orchestra and the Symphony Band. Lea was also a member of the all graduate student woodwind quintet “Aria Franzia.” Some of her notable concerts have been the annual Halloween Concert, Collage concert, and the Bryant Concerto for Wind Ensemble. When not playing in ensembles, Lea actively seeks out music to perform by underrepresented composers and new music, She recently commissioned a new piece for her master’s recital titled Constellations. Prior to coming to Michigan, Lea attended the University of Maryland, College Park for her undergraduate degree where she studied with Greg Miller and Phil Munds.
