Earl V. Moore Award - Theatre & Drama

Marty Flake (BFA, design and production) is honored to receive the Earl V. Moore Award for theatre. In her time at U-M, Marty has explored concentrations in electrics, scenic artistry, and sound design. Her designs for SMTD’s University Productions include Water by the Spoonful, A Beautiful Country, and Romeo and Juliet. Additionally, she has worked professionally at The Spoleto Festival, USA.

She would like to thank the wonderful faculty and staff in the Department of Theatre & Drama and University Productions, as well as her classmates for their supportive, creative, and challenging collaborations. She would also like to thank her family, especially her parents, for their unwavering love and encouragement.

Achievements

2021 Recipient for the Earl V. Moore award for theatre, Sound Designer for SMTD UProd, Romeo and Juliet, A Beautiful Country, Water by the Spoonful, and Flint. 2020 ACTF Award Winner for Unrealized costume designs.
