Sigma Alpha Iota Scholastic Award

Natalie Myers is graduating with a BM in horn performance and a minor in French and Francophone studies. Some highlights from her time at SMTD include playing principal on Hanson’s Symphony No. 2 with the University Philharmonic Orchestra, which is also the theme for her other alma mater, the Interlochen Arts Academy. Natalie also had the wonderful opportunity to work with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra’s Community and Learning Department as an ensemble manager for their Civic Youth Ensembles program for two and a half years where she learned valuable arts administration skills while being inspired by the talented, musical youth of the Detroit area. Natalie is very proud of her involvement with the school’s chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota, a women’s international music fraternity, in which she has held several officer positions that culminated with her presidency of the Alpha Chapter this past school year.
