Ryan Schildcrout (BFA, jazz studies, saxophone and BSE, biomedical engineering) is honored to have spent five years studying with the greatest jazz musicians of the modern era. During his time in the Department of Jazz and Contemporary Improvisation, he enjoyed performing in the jazz chamber ensembles, Jazz Lab Ensemble, and Jazz Ensemble, playing concerts throughout Ann Arbor and metro Detroit. He is the founder and president of Blue Bop Jazz Orchestra, the only non-SMTD Big Band at the University of Michigan. He also served as the president and music director for Groove High Energy Percussion. He would like to extend his deepest gratitude to his family, friends, Henry Feinberg, Mark Kieme, and the Jazz Department, especially Professors Bishop, Rowe, Wilson, and Dobbins.
