Wenlong Huang, born in China, began playing the violin at age six. He enrolled at the music middle school affiliated with the Shanghai Conservatory in 2005 as a viola major and studied with Li Sheng. Wenlong began his studies at the Bard College Conservatory of Music in 2011 where his primary teacher was Steven Tenenbom. His second major at Bard College was in German studies. After this, Wenlong enrolled at Rice University and studied with James Dunham for his master’s degree in 2016. He has participated in many summer music festivals, including Verbier Music Festival, Pacific Music Festival, Music Academy of the West, and Aspen Music Festival and School.
